At 20 years of age, I am the youngest seminarian of the diocese. Now in my second year of studies toward the holy priesthood, I am still the lowest on the "formation totem pole," but I am grateful for the eight years Our Blessed Lord has given me to grow in holiness, intelligence and humility.
I come from St. Francis Xavier Parish in St. Joseph, MO, staffed by the Society of the Most Precious Blood. A Catholic all my life, I am grateful to the Precious Blood Fathers for the gift of their priesthood as well as for administering the sacrament to me, but most especially the Holy Eucharist. I remember that on Lent, at my mother' suggestion, I attended daily Mass for the Lenten sacrifice. In retrospect, I realize that this early contact with the Holy Eucharist helped me to hear the Lord's call in the 5th grade. Since then, God has been very generous to me with His grace and I look forward to my ordination in seven years. Mary, Mother of Priests, Pray for us.
