The priesthood was always a part of my life growing up. My uncle, a priest for the diocese, had a huge influence on me. His example really helped me to see that the priesthood is something that I feel the Lord is calling me to in my own life. In the seminary you are helped to listen to the Lord’s call through prayer and reflection. I really took to heart the words I was once told by someone very close to me when talking about God’s call. “Don’t let the STUFF get in the way of God’s gentle voice. He whispers, but we often shout and get in His way.” God calls each of us in His own way, we just need to take the time to listen.
