If my son or daughter enters religious life does that mean they need to break all family ties?
No religious community requires its members to sever all family ties. In fact, most encourage their members to keep those ties through prayer, letters, phone calls, and visits. Although some of these may be limited in frequency and duration according to the rules of the specific congregation, communities know their greatest benefactors are the families of their members who have shared their daughters and sons with them.
