I graduated from Rockhurst High School in 2004 and Conception Seminary in 2008. I have always felt a sincere connection with the priesthood due to a very close relationship with the Rev. Msgr. A. Robert Murphy V, my dear uncle. His example helped me to see that the priesthood is something that I feel the Lord is calling me to in my own life. I am currently in my sixth year of seminary formation and, God willing, look forward to ordination to the priesthood in 2012. In the seminary, you are guided in listening to the Lord’s call through prayer and frequent reception of the sacraments. I really took to heart the words I was once told by someone very close to me when talking about God’s call. “Don’t let the STUFF get in the way of God’s gentle voice. He whispers, but we often shout and get in His way.” God calls each of us in His own way, we just need to take the time to listen.
