About Us
The Respect Life Office was founded in April 2006, under the direction of the Most Reverend Robert W. Finn, DD, Bishop of the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph.
The Respect Life Office provides pro-life education and leadership to the members of our Catholic diocese and to the residents of northwest and westcentral Missouri in the areas of abortion, stem cell research, human cloning, euthanasia, and assisted suicide. All activities performed are consistent with traditional Catholic doctrine and are approved by the authority of the Church under the direction of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activies.
Programs designed at the diocesan level are made available to all local parishes, missions, and schools which in turn design and implement the programs to meet the particular needs of their respective communities. The success of each programs is ensured through the faithful efforts of pastors, teachers, parents, youth and parish volunteers.
The Respect Life Office invites and encourages all children of God to share in our mission through prayer, education, pastoral care, and public advocacy.
Our Mission Statement:
"We will create and maintain a 'culture of life' locally, nationally, and globally in support of Holy Scripture and the tradition of the Catholic Church."
