Cancer Indemnity Insurance

Although major medical insurance addresses the costs of cancer treatments, deductibles and co-payments present additional challenges. Through Aflac, the diocese offers Voluntary Cancer Indemnity Insurance for Employees and Dependents. The policy assists with out-of-pocket expenses that are not covered by major medical insurance for travel, food, lodging, long-distance calls, child care, and household help. The program pays cash benefits directly to the insured.

Schedule of Benefits
The insured receives cash benefits based on a schedule. Please refer to the Aflac policy for details. Benefits are paid for covered persons who receive physician-prescribed treatments approved by the National Cancer Institute or the Food and Drug Administration for cancer, or an associated cancerous condition, as applicable.
