Natural Family Planning

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them, and God said to them, 'Be fruitful and multiply...'" (Genesis 1:27-28)
To ensure that couples receive at least a basic exposure to modern Natural Family Planning (NFP), an introductory session is included as part of the Marriage Preparation process.
There are two USCCB approved programs of instruction in NFP within our Diocese:
Fertility Care Center of Kansas City
and
Couple to Couple League of Greater Kansas City
Both have as their goals:
- The creation of an awareness of the benefits of NFP.
- The education of men and women to the impact of woman's natural fertility cycle in planning and spacing the introduction of children to the family.
- The support of the Church's teachings regarding human sexuality, marital bonding and nurturance of the couple relationship.
Attendance at one of the two diocesan approved programs of NFP is the norm for all engaged couples of child-bearing age preparing for marriage in the diocese.
