FUTURE EVENTS

March 9, 16, 23, 30:  Prayer and Spirituality in Christian Life.  A retreat series lead by Constance Krstolic, OSB.  This series begins with the questions, "What is prayer?" and "how do we pray?"  This is an opportunity to reflect on the foundations of the spritual life, one's own spiritual journey and the great themes of the Lord's Prayer as outlined in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.  Participants will experience various prayer forms.  For more information contact:  Sr. Eleanor Suther, OSB 913.360.6173 or visit:  www.mountosb.org/sophia.html

March 10:  Day of reflection for home-schoolers.  Moms (and dads) are invited to a mid-winter reflection day, while the kids engage in age-appropriate activities.  Join us at 8:30 in the morning for juice and rolls.  The kids (5 years and older) will go off to their activities at 9:00am with Karen Ceckowski and AGC staff, while the adults attend a conference by Fr. Albert Bruecken.  Mass with the monks and lunch follow.  Kids will have more activities after lunch while the adults enjoy some quiet time and a conference.  We'll close with punch and cookies at 3:00pm.  (Suggested donation, including lunch:  $20 per adult, $10 per child). 

March 27-28:  RCIA directed retreat.  Spend Palm Sunday weekend with the monks of Conception Abbey and the seminarians of Conception Seminary College.  retreat sessions help bring together the entire RCIA experience.  A special session on Reconciliation will help prepare those receiving the sacrament for the first time.  A candlelit service on Saturday night will include priests available for celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  Sunday morning participants will learn the ancient monastic prayer practice of Lectio Divina as they meditate on the gospel for that Sunday.  Then they will join the monastic community in the Palm Sunday procession into the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception.  (Suggested donation for the weekend:  $75 per person).

March 31-April 5:  Triduum retreat--Celebrating the Holy Days at the Abbey.  Join the monks and seminarians for the holiest days of the church year.  Moving liturgies, good inspiring conference and ample silence for personal reading and prayer mark this most sacred of times.  Begins Wednesday evening with supper and concludes after breakfast on Monday morning.  (Suggested donation for lodging, meals and conferences:  $225 single, $400 double accomodations).
