  • NCYC - November 19, 20 and 21, 2009
    NCYC will be the third largest convention in Kansas City in 2009.

    Attendance - As of Novembrt 17, 21,000 youth had registered to attend NCYC. Organizers report that groups from as far away as Japan will be in attendance.

    Hotel Reservations - Regional hotels report reservations for 5,500 hotel rooms for conference attendees.

    Economic Impact - NCYC will have a $15.5 million impact on local economies. The figure factors the number of attendees, hotel room nights, and the number of exhibitors.
Transportation - Some 300 chartered buses will transport attendees to and from Sprint Center.

Local Volunteers - Nearly 1,000 adult volunteers have committed to work at NCYC. All adult volunteers and chaperones have undergone background screening and participated in safe environment training.

Religious Procession - On Friday, November 20, at 10:30 a.m., Bishop Robert Finn and Archbishop Joseph Naumann will lead youth and adult attendees in a religious procession. The procession begins at Sprint Center, moves west on 14th Street, and concludes at the Kansas City Convention Center (Bartle Hall).
