Benediction and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament
“Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works. . .” - Heb 10:23-24
On October 2, 2009 the Catholic Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph Catholic Schools Office held their professional day at St. Pius X Catholic High School. Converging on the Theme of Hope, based on Pope Benedict XVI’s encyclical Spe Salvi, we dedicated our school year on the theme: “The one who has hope lives differently.” What you will see here is the opening prayer leading with Benediction and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament that faithfully reflects our hope resting in Christ.
As Catholic Educators our aim is to help our students in their journey to heaven. We are called in Hope to witness this aim through Christ. St. Teresa of Avila provides us with a wonderful example of her long desire to be united with Christ in heaven,
"Hope, O my soul, hope. You know neither the day nor the hour. Watch carefully, for everything passes quickly, even though your impatience makes doubtful what is certain, and turns a very short time into a long one. Dream that the more you struggle, the more you prove the love that you bear your God, and the more you will rejoice one day with your Beloved, in a happiness and rapture that can never end." - Eccel. 15:3
