Old Testament

In this course students study the people, places and events of the Old Testament. The theme of covenant between God and his people will highlight the unity of the biblical narrative. Reading with the mind of the Church, students will explore the theme of covenant from the story of creation and the primeval narratives to the lives of the Patriarchs, to the birth of the nation Israel and the trials of kingship and exile leading to the revelation of Christ as the Messiah. Students will discover how Jesus is the interpretive key to the whole Old Testament as Prophet, Priest and King and as the Wisdom of God. | ![]() Jacob wrestling with the angel by Doré |
